Implantology
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to take out teeth. Whatever the reason, teeth should be restored as soon as possible. How can be done?
- With removable dentures? Many patients know about their disadvantages – limited ability to chew, changes in speech and of course a number of embarrassing situations which they bring with their use.
- With the bridge? The standard approach requires adjacent teeth to be treated and reshaped, even if they are perfectly healthy.
There is another option – Dental implants
Dental implants are something like “artificial roots” with a specific shape and rough appearance. They are made of biocompatible materials. Such is the neutral titanium, which we use in our practice. It is accepted by the human body and it is not rejected. This is a new structural and functional connection between the living tissue / bone / and foreign body / titanium /. This remarkable process is called osseointegration.
A variety of implants and systems is very large. This is mainly due to the fact that each implant has a different surface, which is actually the most important part.
Implants replace missing teeth, including their roots. They are implanted into the bone at the same place where was the tooth before. This can be done immediately after tooth extraction or later. During the healing process, which continues for at least 3 months, the bone sticks to the implant and so that it becomes firmly anchored. During this period, is good to keep implant of overloading. When everything is fine over implant will be placed stump over which will be fixed a new tooth.
